What are the ingredients in creamed corn?
- Frozen corn kernels- I like to use peaches and cream frozen corn
- Butter- I use unsalted butter, that way I have more control over how much salt I want added to the recipe
- All purpose flour- Helps thicken the liquids added and creates a creamy consistency
- Whole milk- Creates a rich flavor
- Heavy cream- Adds to the creamy texture
- Granulated sugar- Enhances the natural sweetness of the corn
- Cream cheese- Enhances the texture of the cream corn and allows it to get even thicker, creamier and adds more flavor depth
- A little salt and black pepper is a staple to pretty much every meal, so we need some of that too
Can I use canned corn instead of frozen?
