Easy Creamed Corn Recipe (Perfect Easter Side Dish)

Creamed corn with a rich blend of heavy cream and butter with an added touch of sweetness and cream cheese

Ingredients

  • 4 cups frozen corn
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 Tbsp. all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 3 Tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • optional, garnish with paprika

Instructions

  • Boil the corn as instructed on the directions on the package, strain it and set it aside.
  • Add the milk and cream into a measuring cup and set it aside. 
  • In a medium pot, on medium heat add in the butter and melt. 
  • Once the butter starts to boil add in the flour and whisk for 1-2 minutes. 
  • Slowly add in the milk and cream mixture while whisking the whole time. It will start getting thick.
  • Whisk constantly until all of the liquid is added and it starts to thicken.
  • Stir in the sugar, salt and pepper.
  • Add in the cream cheese and whisk just until smooth.
  • Once smooth, add in the corn and turn down the heat to medium low.
  • Heat the corn until it is warmed through and the sauce reaches desired consistency. This is a very creamy recipe.
  • Pour mixture into a serving bowl and season it with a touch of salt and pepper before serving.
  • Garnish with paprika if wanted

  • store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days.
