Maple Walnut Granola
This maple walnut granola is filled with cozy fall flavors and makes the perfect quick and easy breakfast to start your day.

Granola is a great breakfast to have in the morning and this one is my favorite to enjoy during autumn. There’s nothing like cozying up with a bowl of granola with toasted walnuts, oats, raisins and a hint of cinnamon.

Recipe Ingredients
Lets talk ingredients! Here’s everything you’ll need to make a batch of this granola!
- Old Fashioned Oats- Also known as rolled oats or large flake oats.
- Walnuts– If you don’t like walnuts you can always swap them out for pecans.
- Coconut Oil
- Pure Maple Syrup- Make sure to use pure maple syrup and not artificial.
- Brown Sugar- Adds a more caramelized flavor and makes the granola crispier when combined with the maple syrup.
- Vanilla Extract- Pure or artificial works fine.
- Raisins- These are optional, you can swap them out with another dried fruit or leave the dried fruits out all together.
- Salt
- Cinnamon

How to make this recipe
Use these photos as a guide as you move along each step.

- Step 1: Add oats and walnuts to a large bowl, mix and set aside.

- Step 2: Add the coconut oil, maple syrup, brown sugar, salt and cinnamon to a small pot. Whisk until coconut oil is melted and sugar is dissolved.

- Step 3: Pour over the oats and walnuts, mix well.

- Step 4: Spread out evenly onto the baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes, mix. Bake for 15 more minutes and mix. Bake for up to 5 minutes longer if needed, or until browned.

- Step 5: Add to wire rack to completely cool.

- Step 6: Once completely cooled, stir in the raisins.

- Step 7: Add to an air tight container and store at room temperature for up to 3 weeks.
Hint: Granola will crisp up when its cooling. Do NOT store until completely cooled.

Storage
Room temperature: Store in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks at room temperature.

Maple Walnut Granola
Ingredients
- 4 cups old fashioned rolled oats
- 1 cup walnuts, roughly chopped
- 1/3 cup coconut oil
- 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
- 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup raisins, optional
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 325.
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
- Add oats and walnuts to a large bowl, mix and set aside.
- In a small pot on medium heat add in the coconut oil, maple syrup, brown sugar, salt and cinnamon. Whisk until melted and sugar is dissolved.
- Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla.
- Pour over the oats and walnuts and mix well.
- Spread evenly over the baking sheet.
- Bake for 15 minutes then mix. Bake for 15 more minutes and mix.
- Bake for up to 5 minutes longer if needed, or until oats are browned.
- Check the last couple of minutes to make sure oats don’t burn.
- Remove from the oven and place on a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, stir in the raisins and add to an air tight storage container.

Can I swap maple syrup with honey?
Yes, though the flavor will be different.
Why add brown sugar to granola?
It adds a caramel flavor and makes the granola crunchier.
