Plain Bread Crumbs Recipe

No more tossing out stale bread!
Prep Time 25 minutes
Cook Time 30 minutes
Total Time 1 hour 10 minutes
Serving Size 1 cup

Ingredients

  • 15 slices of white bread, stale preferably

Instructions

  • Pre heat oven to 300f.
  • Cut the crusts off the bread.
  • Place bread on cookie sheet.
  • Toast for 30 minutes, turning half way at the 15 minute mark. Keep an eye on it as your bread may be thicker or thinner and timing may vary. They'll be lightly toasted and feel fully dried out when done.
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool.
  • Once cooled place them in a zip lock bag and roll over them with the rolling pin until desired size.
  • Place in an airtight container to store.

Notes

  • Use the crusts to make homemade croutons
  • Store for up to 2 weeks at room temperature, 3 weeks in the fridge or up to 3 months in the freezer
