1910's Recipes
1910's Recipes blended traditional home cooked meals with the beginnings of modern convenience. Grocery stores grew in size and carried more items. From scratch cooking remained popular, however during this time there was a rise of canned and processed foods. Most people cooked on wood stoves or open hearths as high costs of electric appliances made it difficult for most people to afford. WW1 influenced home cooks to be more resourceful, use substitutions and minimize waste.
