This granola bar recipe is so perfect! After many trials trying to make a recipe that didn’t turn into a pile of granola… I finally found one that doesn’t fall apart! What is even cooler about this recipe is that it can be made with or without nuts!
Our children’s school is a nut free school, so I am always trying to find snack recipes I can make for them that don’t include nuts. Sometimes that is hard to do, especially when it comes to making granola bars. Most recipes I notice have nuts or peanut butter in them. I hope this will be your go to recipe like it is our families!

A lot of times granola bars have un-wanted processed ingredients, therefore making them at home can be a healthier alternative. They are budget friendly and can be frozen into portion sizes for a grab and go snack to put in your lunches. They are also very quick and easy to make.

What Ingredients Are Used to Make This Granola Bar Recipe?
This granola bar recipe is made with 8 ingredients and can be less if you’re not mixing the types of chocolate chips you’re using, for example both butterscotch chips and chocolate chips.
- Quick oats
- Chopped nuts or instead of nuts dried coconut
- Dried fruit (I like using dried cranberries)
- Sunflower seeds
- White or butterscotch chips (or you can use all chocolate chips)
- Chocolate chips
- One 300 ml can of sweetened condensed milk
- Un-salted butter, melted
My favorite combination for this granola bar recipe is dried cranberries and 1/2 white chocolate chips, 1/2 chocolate chips and instead of nuts I use the dried coconut.

How Do You Make This Granola Bar Recipe?
- Start off by Pre-heating your oven to 325.
- Line an 11×17 baking sheet with parchment paper making sure to leave a lip of the parchment paper so it’s easy to lift out later.
- In a large bowl add in the oats, nuts or dried coconut, dried fruit, sunflower seeds, chocolate chips, condensed milk, and butter. Make sure to mix well so everything is coated evently.
- Transfer it all to the pan.
- Spread out the granola bar mixture evenly onto the pan and press into the pan very well. I use my rubber spatula to press it into the pan.
- Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until lighlty browned.
- Cool in the pan for about 20-30 minutes on a cooling rack, then lift them out of the pan by grabbing the lip of parchment paper and then slice into bars.
- Transfer them to a cooling rack to completely cool.
- Once completely cooled, add them into an air tight container.
- You have the option to leave them at room temperature, store them in the fridge or freeze them.
- This granola bar recipe makes 35 granola bars, but it all depends on the size that you cut yours.

A perfect snack for school lunches
Ingredients
3 cups quick oats
1 cup chopped nuts or dried coconut
1 cup dried fruit, chopped
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup white chocolate chips or butterscotch chips or just more chocolate chips
1 (300 ml) can of sweetened condensed milk

Directions
- Pre-heat oven to 325.

- Once completely cooled, add them to an airtight container and store either at room temperature, in the fridge or in the freezer.
