Simple, Cozy, From Scratch Recipes
I’m Nicole, the heart behind The Happy Homemaker. My love for cooking started beside my nana and grandma, watching them create simple, wholesome meals with love and care. Their kitchens were filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting smells of delicious cooking. That same feeling is what I hope to share with you here.

How it all started
When I lived with my Nana, (my great grandmother) I used to make us crackers and cheese and mix milkshakes by hand while we got ready to watch the Toronto Maple Leafs game together. When family came over, I’d put on my apron, grab a pen and paper, and take everyone’s breakfast orders and then head to the kitchen to cook. Nana and I would decorate heart shaped cakes with pink icing and cover it in an entire container of pink sprinkles, my favorite colour!

How My Journey Continued
When I lived with my Grandma (Nana’s daughter), we’d have special days where we cooked dinner and dessert together for my brothers and Grandpa. On their nights to cook, they usually ordered take out and ice cream cake instead which was fine by me. The Bart Simpson ice cream cake they brought home was my favorite!
I later spent several years working as a waitress before becoming a stay at home mom, where I put my heart into making home cooked meals for my family. I’ve always loved the way grandmas cook and that’s what inspired me to start sharing my own recipes with you here.
