Did you know the avocado is actually considered a fruit? It is just usually prepared as a vegetable. I thought it was a vegetable for the longest time. To my surprise it is not, maybe that is why its so tasty, as fruit to me is more enjoyable than vegetables.
Last week my mother in law went to the grocery store and left her avocados here. Ooops, to my benefit I got to keep them and was able to make my favorite recipe to share with you here. It is a delicious recipe made with only 4 ingredients.
Vietnamese avocado dessert with condensed milk is a sweet treat made with simple ingredients. If you have some ripe avocados and not sure what to do with them this is a great way to use them up by making this refreshing drink.
What is an avocado smoothie made of?
- Whole milk- You can also use regular milk or non-dairy milk, but whole milk makes for the best consistency and flavor. Some people have also used soy milk and coconut milk but I have not tried any non-dairy options. If you feel like experimenting leave me a comment below and tell me how it turned out!
- Sweetened condensed milk- The condensed milk brings out the avocado flavor and adds sweetness along with a creamy texture. Others have used maple syrup as a healthy alternative instead of the condensed milk but I have never tried that. I am just too much in love with the condensed milk.
- Ripe avocado’s-The avocado flesh makes a smooth consistency for this delicious avocado drink.
- Ice- Keeps the drink cool as we are not using frozen ingredients like you usually do when making smoothies
